Our team is dedicated to advancing inclusive education across Scotland’s schools. We draw on a wide range of experiences and expertise, united by a shared commitment to challenging prejudice and strengthening the learning experience of all young people.
Our Team
We found dealing with TIE from the moment I contacted them to the delivery of the workshops to be efficient, helpful and useful.
As a pastoral depute, I have dealt with numerous agencies and I was very impressed with how easy they made it to book, organise and arrange the workshop.
I have been thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our engagement with TIE and am very grateful that we were able to participate.
The feedback from the workshops was also immensely useful to quantify understanding.
Thank you very much, we will absolutely be engaging TIE again.
Our Patron: Susie McCabe
Susie McCabe is one of Scotland’s most celebrated multi-award winning stand-up comedians, known for her razor-sharp wit, engaging storytelling, and unflinching authenticity. As an openly gay woman, Susie uses her platform to advocate for inclusion, representation, and equality, often drawing on her personal experiences growing up under Section 28 – a time when LGBT identities were silenced in schools and society.
Susie brings her unique blend of humour and heartfelt passion to her role as our first and only patron. A proud champion of LGBT Inclusive Education, Susie is committed to ensuring that no young person grows up feeling invisible or ashamed of who they are.
Her advocacy focuses on breaking down barriers, promoting kindness and understanding, and creating classrooms where every child knows they belong. Susie’s humour and humanity make her a powerful voice for change, and we are delighted to welcome her as a passionate ambassador for the next generation.
Board of Trustees
Our Board of Trustees are responsible for the charity’s finances and strategic direction. Utilising their individual and collective experience, the Trustees provide oversight to ensure that the charity is having an impact and meeting its annual outcomes.
A Decade of Change
We began our work in 2015 as a grassroots campaign, with the aim of addressing homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic bullying with an educational approach in Scotland’s schools.
Our campaign led to Scotland becoming the first country in the world to agree to integrate LGBT themes - including diverse families, anti-bullying, history, and rights - across the school curriculum.
We are now a national charity with a dedicated staff team, including GTCS-registered teachers who create and deliver our school services and resources.
