Scottish Summit Fundraiser
We were delighted to attend the 2023 Scottish Summit annual tech conference on Saturday 5 August in Manchester as one of their charity partners. The event raised an incredible £3,591 for us through proceeds from ticket purchases.
Our Co-Founder / Director Jordan and Operations Manager Claire attended the event and hosted a stall within the conference. Here, they met with attendees and shared more information about the work we do with schools, young people and teachers in Scotland. We were grateful for the opportunity to engage with so many different people across the tech sector and give them the chance to find out more about where the funds they had raised through purchasing an event ticket were going. Thank you to Scottish Summit for allowing us to be part of a great event and for raising such an amazing amount for us!
A huge thanks to Jordan and Claire from TIE for joining us at Scottish Summit 2023! Your presence and insightful conversations on August 5th at University Academy 92 (UA92) were truly appreciated. We carefully select partners who embody our commitment to pushing boundaries, and you were a natural fit. Travelling all the way from Scotland to Manchester, you enriched the Microsoft community's understanding of Time for Inclusive Education (TIE). Your dedication to combating prejudice and bullying, and your efforts in educating young minds through workshops, resources, and teacher training are truly commendable.
Scottish Summit unites the complete Microsoft Cloud Community to showcase the entire Microsoft Cloud stack. Our platform has witnessed over 4,000 attendees and 500 sessions across diverse tracks. We are proud of our inclusive tracks and ensure that our events remain accessible to all. Thank you for sharing your invaluable insights and inspiring us to continue our education ahead of Scottish Summit 2024 in Aberdeen.”
Scottish Summit is an annual tech conference that started in 2019 as a way to showcase Microsoft Dynamics 365 in Scotland. They pride themselves on being a socially conscious event and have always had a significant focus on diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. We were extremely grateful to be asked to be the charity partner for this year’s event, alongside a local Manchester food bank.
We are incredibly grateful to organisers and attendees of 2023's Scottish Summit for their fundraising to support our work. It has been particularly heartwarming for us to know that our mission to address homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia in schools has such support from the Scottish Summit community, and we were thankful to attend the conference to speak with attendees about the range of services and resources that we offer to achieve this.
The funds raised will contribute to the costs of delivering our services in schools, which include workshops for pupils designed to improve their understanding of prejudice impacting LGBT people in order to prevent it from occurring, and teaching resources about the plethora of inspirational LGBT people from our past and present. At a time when our charity's budget is tightening but our operations are increasing, the fundraising from Scottish Summit is incredibly helpful. Additionally, following our attendance at the conference and speaking with professionals from across the technology sector, we are now considering what further resources we may be able to provide to support businesses as part of our work plan.
We look forward to maintaining our relationship with Scottish Summit and the wonderful community of people we met, and cannot thank all of the attendees enough for their support this year."
