These lesson plans will support you to deliver lessons accompanying the film ‘Pride’ (rated 15).
Lesson one sets the historical context for the miners’ strike of 1984/5 which features prominently in the film. Lesson two then engages with the progress of LGBT rights in the second half of the 20th century, including the drivers of social and legal change. Across the two lessons, learners will explore the broader themes of unity, rights, and progress for LGBT equality in Britain.
This resource was developed in partnership with Filmhouse Cinemas to facilitate engaging learning through the use of film in the classroom.
