These lesson plans will support you to deliver lessons accompanying the film ‘Battle of the Sexes’ (rated 12).
Lesson one sits within Modern Studies, looking at current gender inequality in pay in sports. Lesson two sits within History, examining the historical fight for gender equality and LGBT equality in the context of ‘Battle of the Sexes’. The two lessons tie together the modern and historical context of the themes of LGBT rights and women’s rights in America, equal pay in sports, and gender stereotypes.
This resource was developed in partnership with Filmhouse Cinemas to facilitate engaging learning through the use of film in the classroom.
