At Diageo, Shieldhall, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting Jordan and Liam across 4 sessions capturing all of our workforce across different shifts patterns, as they shared their own lived experiences and personal stories with us. Each session was extremely powerful, heartbreaking at points, thought provoking, and completely underscored the importance of taking proactive steps to address bias in all its forms. It really hit home the very real impact that language has in perpetuating bias, how this can escalate, and the devastating effect this can have.

Jordan and Liam emphasized that through education, awareness and by being mindful of our words and how we speak to others, we can challenge these biases and create a more inclusive environment, inside of work and out.

The feedback from our teams has been amazing:

“A very insightful, significantly important viewpoint from both speakers. It really puts LGBT+ perspectives in a very approachable and inviting way for older workers who may be stuck in their vintage ways, without being patronizing.”

“Conversations like this make a real difference. Everyone I spoke to about the session afterwards only had positive things to say and could already see some perspective changing positively.”

“This was a well-delivered presentation as well as being a hard listen; my son is a young gay man, and I relived everything that he also went through while I was listening to you. Keep up the good work.”

“Absolutely amazing! Took a lot of education from it, and the two guys were incredible.”

Working with Jordan, Liam & Claire to make this happen was an absolute joy and we can’t wait to do more with TIE in the future. For any companies looking to engage your staff in an impactful way and start some real conversation around this topic then look no further.
