TIE have been instrumental in our school’s implementation of LGBT Inclusive Education and we couldn’t be more grateful. They have been there for us, every step of the way; supporting us with resources, books, staff training and no question or ask was too much for them. The toolkit has been such a useful resource, guiding us along the way and ensuring that we have always been on the right track with our implementation of the learning themes and our plans.
TIE’s inputs with our P5-7 learners are always engaging and exciting, with their CPD staff inputs always incredible refreshing and highly valuable. TIE also put together a training input specifically for our SFLW team which we were so grateful for.
The resources available on lgbteducation.scot are fantastic – not only are they wonderful and meaningful as they are, but they have also been excellent, high quality examples of high quality integration of LGBT learning themes. The resources have allowed for our staff to see how LGBT education can/should be integrated into their planning and teaching. Thanks to support from TIE and the helpful Toolkit, we have now incorporated all of the LGBT Inclusive Learning Themes into our planners from P1-7.
We are now confident that our learners are experiencing a good balance of windows and mirrors throughout their education here and that our LGBT learners and allies feel supported, included and safe here. We would not be where we are today without the team at TIE and their ongoing support. Thank you!
